Biographical / Historical
Thomas Jefferson Howell was born 7 March 1860 in Franklin, Iowa, to James and Rosannah Monk. As a child, his family moved to Utah, arriving in Salt Lake City on 29 August 1863. On 7 April 1881 in Salt Lake City, he married Mary Jane Heaton, with whom he had 12 children. He served in many church callings, including the clerk and president of the Nebraska Conference and as a Seventy. He died 5 October 1945 in Portage, Utah.
