Scope and Contents note

The collection consists of legal files (1937-1988) gathered by John Paul Kennedy while he was business partners with Stephen G. Boyden, General Counsel for the Ute Indian tribes, and John S. Boyden, Jr., the chairman and CEO of the Ideal National Insurance Company, both located in Utah. The files contain correspondence, legal research, court documentation, agreements, newspaper clippings, and other papers.

Biographical History

John Paul Kennedy worked as a lawyer with the Ideal National Insurance Company, and is now a Judge of the Third District Court of Utah.

John Paul Kennedy is a former business partner of Stephen G. Boyden, General Legal Counsel of the Ute Indian Tribe, and of John S. Boyden, Jr., Chairman and CEO of the Ideal National Insurance Company. He worked as a lawyer for a private firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is currently a Judge of the Third District Court of Utah and is living in Salt Lake City.
