Scope and Contents note

This collection contains original diaries, 1884-1909. Other papers include patriarchal, father's and missionary blessings; copies of reports to the First Presidency of the Church concerning problems in Coalville, Utah; newspaper clippings; and a Latter-day Saint stake president's certificate for Taylor's son, Moses C. Taylor. The papers concern Taylor's experiences in Salt Lake City and Kamas, Utah; as a missionary in the Southern States, 1890-1893; and as president of the Summit (Utah) Stake. Some references to the Mormon practice of plural marriage are also included. Also includes photocopy and typescript copy of diaries, dated 1884-1906.

Biographical History

Mormon leader and son of John Taylor, who was president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1880-1887. Moses served as president of the Summit (Utah) Stake of the Church, 1901-1921.
