Contains speeches, articles, pamphlets, and magazines written by or about Reynolds I. Nowell on business and the economy. Some of the articles are also on agriculture. The collection also contains a few pamphlets that Reynolds took the photographs for, and usually the photographs were of a member of his extended family.

Biographical History

Reynolds Irwin Nowell was born January 14, 1905 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Irwin Nowell and Josephine Reynolds Nowell. He attended school at the Utah State Agricultural College and the University of Illinois. On August 9, 1928, he married Hannah Cannell in Logan, Utah. He worked in state and federal government agencies before joining the insurance industry. During his career in insurance, he worked as the vice-president of Equitable Life Insurance Society. Reynolds died August 10, 1984 in Forest City, Pennsylvania.

The collection contains the papers of a Mormon businessman and shows some of the concerns and economic issues of the mid-1900s through the topics addressed in his articles and speeches.
