Scope and Contents

Reports, surveys, correspondence, charts, maps, and associated materials. The items relate largely to the coal regions of Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. They deal with coke, diamond drilling, land and leases, machinery and equipment, railroads and railroad services, taxes, assessments, and water supply. Also included are portions of the files of the company's geologists. The collection also includes accounts of mining camp life, expenses, accidents, sanitary conditions, insurance, and similar issues. The materials also relate to Brigham Young University Library's holdings on the Spring Canyon Area Coal Company collection.
