Collection contains fifteen (15) Society for the Preservation of Film Music newsletters, each entitled The Cue Sheet. There are three or four newsletters for the years 1984-1987. William H. Rosar is listed as president, and Clifford McCarty as editor. Some of the newsletters include pictures and are printed as professional pamphlets, other appear to be copies stapled together. The newsletters include interviews with composers, reviews, reports on publications, and excerpts from different publications, all related to film music subjects.

The Society for the Preservation of Film Music, Inc strives to preserve unpublished materials created in American motion picture music or film music.

The Society for the Preservation of Film Music, Inc. was founded in 1983 by film historian-musicologist, William H. Rosar. Its purpose was to preserve unpublished materials created in American motion picture music or film music, such as sheet music, cue sheets, recordings, and other documents related to music creation. Today it is known as the Film Music Society, Inc.
