Biographical History
Ray Longstroth Richards (1910-1989) was a naval officer in World War II and the son of the apostle George Franklin Richards.
Son of Apostle George Franklin Richards and Alice Almira Robinson and younger brother of Apostle LeGrand Richards, Ray Longstroth Richards was born 11 October 1910 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He served a mission to Germany from 1929-1932. He Married Minnie Gariff 29 August 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served as a naval officer during World War II in Hawaii. He attended LDS College, the University of Utah, and Harvard University. He was a member of the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce. Custodial History note
Collection purchased by Special Collections from John Watkins. He purchased the collection when he bought out a book scout (2002?), who found it at a yard/estate sale in the Kaysville/Layton area.
