These 49 diaries consist of notations made by Partridge in almanacs. While the diaries cover the years 1781 to 1836, the diaries for the following years are missing: 1783, 1784, 1785, 1787, 1788, 1790, 1791, 1794, 1798, 1801, and 1814. Diaries for 1837 and 1839 were kept by perhaps John Partridge, William's son, and the father of Harvey Williams Partridge.

Custodial History

It is thought that the diaries were originally purchased by the library as part of a larger collection of early American almanacs. Before that they were in the possession of Harvey Williams Partridge, grandson of the creator, who made a notation of ownership in the 1781 diary, and his family.
