Biographical History

Ernest L. Wilkinson (1899-1978), president of BYU from 1951-1971, John W. Cragun (1906-1969), and Robert W. Barker (1919-1987), lawyers in the law firm of Wilkinson, Cragun, Barker, who handled the Indian Claims Commission cases during the 1950's-1980's.

Custodial History

These files were in the custody of the law firm of Wilkonson, Cragun & Barker, until the law firm broke up around 1982. In 1982, a new law firm was organized named Hobbs, Strauss, Dean and Walker, at which firm the files remained until they were donated to BYU.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The law firm formerly known as Wilkinson, Cragun & Barker, donated this collection to Brigham Young University in 1984 and 1986.
