Personal history of Andrew May contains information on his ancestors; childhood in Cardston, Alberta, Canada; life in Baker, Oregon; marriage to Jean Fossum; and his illness and death. Also contains significant information of his wife's Latter-day Saint mission to California, 1926-1928. Personal history of Alfred James Madsen contains information on his ancestors; memories of his childhood in Provo, Utah; church service, including a LDS mission to New Zealand, 1926-1929; marriage; farm life; LDS mission to Pennsylvania, 1972-1973; and travels. Personal history of Verda Pauline Carter contains information on her ancestors; memories of her childhood in Provo, Utah; marriage; church service, including a LDS mission to Pennsylvania, 1972-1973; travels; and the death of her husband. The personal histories were compiled by James A. May and printed in 1998.

James A. May, the compiler, is the son of Andrew May, and the son-in-law of Alfred James Madsen and Verda Pauline Carter.

Earlier in 1998 James May sent to the archives, via e-mail, a history of his mother, Jean Fossum May (A98-167). On Oct. 20, 1998 he sent these additional histories of his father and in-laws.
