Orem Heritage Museum video interviews of long-time Orem residents
Scope and Contents
Interviews discuss historical events of Orem and the lives of noted Orem residents during the 20th century. Topics include farming and fruit growing, World War II (reminiscences of serving in the military), industrial and commercial development, railroads (inter-urban line), Orem's World War II prisoner of war camp and host of other local history topics. The interviews also address the development and history of the United States Steel Corporation Geneva Works (formerly Columbia-Geneva Division, U.S. Steel), Sharon's (Stake) Community Educational and Recreational Association (SCERA) and the Geneva Resort on Utah Lake. Hollis Scott, Leo Perry (reporter for the Deseret News) and Vance Calder conducted most of the interviews, all residents of Orem.
