Pages from a large scrapbook containing ephemera such as tourism pamphlets, postcards, and clippings related to the federal and state governments of the United States and information about various states. Includes collected autographs of governors, presidents and other American politicians, letters from political offices, and some artwork. The creator appears to be Henley Varian "Vay" (always signed H.V.) Stinger, and is dated 1960s to 1970s.

Biographical / Historical

Henley Varian Stinger, known as "Vay", was born in Robin, Idaho, on January 28, 1899 to John William and Gwenlion Marley Stinger. He lived in Los Angeles, California, and worked as an engineer for Douglas Aircraft. He returned to Idaho to operate Arimo Hotel with his brother. Vay never married and lived the last few years of his life in Orem, Utah, with his nephew. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Henley Varian Stinger died on October 18, 1989, in Payson, Utah, and was buried in Arimo, Idaho.
