Biographical / Historical

Linda Hunter Adams was born in 1941 in Logan, Utah to Milton R. Hunter and Ferne Gardner. She received her BA and MA from Brigham Young University. She married Charles P. Adams in 1969 and had two children, Jennifer and Nathaniel. She worked for 30 years at BYU as an associate professor, where she taught English and editing. While at BYU, she was also the director of the Humanities Publication Center and associate editor of BYU Studies. She was also an editor for Pioneer Magazine, and worked on the Journal of the American Viola Society and the Joseph Smith Papers. She is known for the influence she had on thousands of students and the service she gave in her church and to others. She died on July 17, 2016, near Brighton, Utah.
