Materials contain three Grenade Curran scrapbooks. The scrapbooks were created by Grenade Curran and include: photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, and printed ephemera. Dated approximately 1955 to 2018.

Biographical history

Grenade Curran (1935-2017) was a film producer.

Charles Grenade Bewley Curran was born October 5, 1935 in Los Angeles, California to Charles Grenade Bewley Sr. and Marion Ahern. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served two missions. He married Elmary Davidson in Salt Lake City in 1961. He later married Donna Gould in Los Angeles in 1974. In 2001, he married Marta Macdonald. He was active in the film industry throughout his life.

Grenade Curran passed away from lung cancer on September 5, 2017.

Biographical history

Michael Hicks (1956-) is a music professor at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Michael Hicks was born in 1956 in San Jose, California. He received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984 and has been teaching at BYU since 1985. He has written four books and many historical and analytical articles. He also writes poetry, which has been published in Dialogue. He and his wife Pamela have four children.

Scrapbooks acquired by BYU Music Professor Michael Hicks at a Grenade Curran estate sale in fall of 2017. Subsequently donated to L. Tom Perry Special Collections in June 2018.
