Biographical History

George Thomas Taylor (1858-1933) was a foreman of the gilsonite mines in Uintah County, Utah.

George Thomas Taylor was born July 14, 1858 to George Ernest Taylor and Martha Emeline Anderson Taylor in Arenzville, Illinois. He married Elon Elizabeth Box on March 5, 1889 in Nine Mile, Utah. George worked as a foreman of the gilsonite mines in Utah. He dies June 11, 1933 in Roosevelt, Utah.

Custodial History

Materials were donated to the L. Tom Perry Special Collections by Gregg L. Taylor in 2013. They were passed down to him through the family from his great-grandfather, George Thomas Taylor.
