ALMA photographs, circa 1960s-1980s collection contains 214 photographs, 14 negative strips, 9 pages of negatives proofs, and 48 slides of film and personalities. Many were taken at firesides and other seminars or meetings.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from ALMA photographs must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.

Biographical / Historical

Associated Latter-day Media Artists (ALMA) was formed in January of 1977 by Donna King Conkling, Glen Larson, Ruth and Nathan Hale, Bert Lynn, Robert Starling, and Gordon Jump. A network of contacts was created for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints within the media fields. The organization hosted firesides, seminars, award ceremonies and other activities bringing support and awareness concerning Latter-day Saints in the media. It became a worldwide association with headquarters in Los Angeles, California.
