Asian photographs
Scope and Contents
About 600 photographs of people and places in Asia, taken between 1870 and 1949. This is an extensive collection focusing on cities and towns in Asia, various ethnic groups, and daily practices. Most of the photographs of China appear to have been taken just before Communism.

Open to public access; Kept in cold storage; requires 24 hours advance notice to access collection.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from Asian photographs must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.
