Biographical / Historical
D. B. Chase was born Dana Boardman Chase on September 20, 1847 in Maine to John A. Chase and Mary F. Lane Chase. He operated photographic studios in Colorado from 1873 to the 1880s. In 1884, he took over the Santa Fe studio of William Henry Brown. He sold this gallery to Thomas J. Curran in 1892. He married a woman named Ella, with whom he had four children, then later divorced her. He married a woman named Belle in 1888 and divorced her in 1897 or 1898. He married Fannie Smith on April 27, 1899 in Pueblo, Colorado and by 1900 they had moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. D. B. Chase died August 4, 1912 in Los Angeles, California.
