Collection includes photographs and postcards created by the Detroit Publishing Co. with images of the American West, including Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon. Includes photochrom prints. Also includes one copy negative. Dated approximately 1890-1939.

Permission to publish material from Detroit Publishing Co. photographs and postcard of the West must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.

Administrative History

The Detroit Publishing Co. was founded in 1905 through a merger of the Detroit Photographic Co. and Photochrom Co. The company declared bankruptcy in 1924 and was liquidated in 1932.
