Restricted. Closed for 50 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Restriction Policy. Requests to access restricted materials in the University Archives should be submitted to the University Archivist.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from Performing Arts Management records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.

Administrative History

The Program Bureau (1958-1978) organized nation and worldwide performances and tours for the performing groups on campus.

The Program Bureau, formerly called the Student Program Bureau, was formed in 1958 to facilitate the organization of tours for performing groups at BYU including the Letterman, Fieldhouse Frolics, Startime BYU, and 15. Chairman included John D. Burnett (1958), James H. Lawrence (1959-1973), Janie Thompson (1974-1976), and K. Newell Dayley (1976-1978).
