Scope and Contents

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 13 Nov. 1894, and addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth of Fort Collins, Colorado. Brooks responds to Aylesworth's request for biographical information by stating, "I don't like these personal questions for I cannot answer them satisfactorily." The envelope in which the letter was sent is with the collection. Also included is a handwritten and signed note dated 28 May 1892 in which Brooks states that the manuscript, "Take a Walk," is "Just the thing." With the collection is a biography of Brooks clipped from a newspaper and a portrait of him clipped from a magazine.
