Materials contain a memoir of Phyllis Doxford regarding her service in the U.S. Air Force as a nurse during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969 and then the reserves until 1972. Memoir was collected as part of the Nurses at War Project. Discusses her training, responsibilities, and patients. Describes her assignment in the Philippines, where she treated Korean patients. Gives opinions on the Vietnam War. Talks about her career following the war as an ICU nurse at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City. Finally discusses the effects of her military experience in her life as well as religious inactivity while in the military. Concludes with a declaration of her faith. Dated May 8, 2003.
