Scope and Contents note

Material contains papers of Clinton O. Norby regarding his service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-1945. Contains an account written by Norby in 1980 about a mission to Germany in February 1945. Contains a photocopy of an article from Air Classics magazine about Norby's plane, the Torchy Tess, and its crash. Contains a memorial of Norby's crewmember Harold V. Gividen, photocopy of a Deseret News article about the crash, a photocopy of an article from the Shorelines newspaper about the crash, a photocopy of a telegram reporting Norby missing in action, letter from the War Department, and copied photographs from 1944-1945 and 1998. Also contains an account and copied newspaper article from 1984 that both describe Gividen's visit to Switzerland in 1982. Also included a photocopy of a military badge, a cadet club card and a notice for a physical exam. Also includes a brief explanation of the B-17. Dated 1944-2003.
