Scope and Contents note

Materials contain papers relating to the military service of Clifton Jenkins in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Describes his work on a tank landing ship (LST) moving supplies around for the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines. Several pages of photocopied photographs with descriptions are included, as well as many photocopied pages that appear to be from Jenkins' diary relating his experiences during the Korean War. One page contains Jenkins personal information. An account titled "Blessings of the Priesthood for Every Worthy Member" recounts Jenkins' experience with Richard A. Lowe, a black man whose story of receiving the priesthood can be found in an Ensign article from December 1979. A photocopy of the article from the Ensign is included, as well as an article titled "Voyage of Mercy" about Merchant Mariners rescuing 14,000 Korean refugees facing death. Dated after 1950.
