Biographical History

The Grey family were descended from American author Zane Grey (1872-1939).

Zane Grey married Lina Elisa Roth (1883-1957) in 1905, and together they had three children: Romer (1909-1976), Betty (born 1913), and Loren (1915-2007). Grey was distant as a father, but his sons both later pursued writing as well. Romer produced a number of Westerns, as well as writing about fishing. Loren studied educational psychology and taught at California State University, Northridge, but also wrote a series of Westerns himself. He also served for years as president of Zane Grey, Inc.
