Conditions Governing Access

Restricted. Closed for 50 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Restriction Policy. Folder 34 restricted until 2055. Requests to access restricted materials in the University Archives should be submitted to the University Archivist.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances.

Permission to publish material from the Wilkinson Center and Student Activities records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the Special Collections Board of Curators.

Administrative History

From the Series: The coordinator was responsible to the Dean of Students. He served as a faculty and administrative representative to the various student government councils. His primary functions were: 1) Counsel officers and members of student organizations about development and leadership of their programs. 2) Advise student groups on University policies and regulations governing student affairs. 3) Supervise registration of student groups and their functions as required by established University procedures. 4) Coordinate Student Government, advise correct procedure for conducting elections, organization of committees, etc. 5) Approve and generally supervise all social affairs on and off campus. (Time, place, conduct, chaperones, etc.) 6) Register all student activities elsewhere on or off campus. (Mass meetings, rallies, parades, sales, forums, etc.) 7) Counsel with the Wilkinson Center Directorate on the program for students, provide a roster of eligible students for Union Committee positions, recommend and assist in selecting student leaders for the Union Board, and assist the Directorate in recommending policy and procedure for approval by the policy committee.
