Biography

Dorothy Jordan (1906-1988) was an American film actress.

Dorothy Jordan was born August 9, 1906, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Theresa Harrison and Edward Peter Jordan. After starting in Broadway, Dorothy became a film actress in Hollywood, beginning with "Taming of the Shrew" in 1929. In 1933, Dorothy married film director and producer Merian C. Cooper, and they were married until his death in 1973. Dorothy retired from acting in 1956. She died in Los Angeles on December 7, 1988.

Contains awards, correspondence, story proposals, photographs, art, and other material related to Cooper's career in the film industry during the beginning in the 1930s, but primarily in the 1950s and 1960s.
