Biography

Silas Hutchings (1868-1943) was a farmer and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Springville, Utah.

Silas Hutchings was born on November 16, 1868, in Springville, Utah to Shepherd Pierce Hutchings and Eliza Ann Pectol. He was one of fifteen children. In 1894, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Samoa. Silas married Eliza Ann Pectol on February 10, 1897, in Springville, Utah. Together they had nine children and ran a farm in Springville, Utah. Silas died on March 10, 1943, in Springville, Utah.
