Biography

Paul Charles Andrus (1924-2019) was a businessman, World War II army veteran, and president of the Northern Far East Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Paul C. Andrus was born on October 5, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents George Everett Andrus and LaVerna Terry. He was raised in Magna, Utah and graduated from Cyprus High School in Magna, Utah in 1942. He went on to serve in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943-1946, and in the occupation army in Japan from November 1945 to August 1956. Andrus served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central Pacific Mission from February 1948 to June 1948, and in the Japanese Mission from February 1948 to February 1951.

He married Frances Maluhia Parker on July 5, 1952 in the Laie, Hawaii Temple, with whom he had five children. Andrus then served as president of the Northern Far East Mission from 1955-1962. Professionally, he worked as a private insurance and real estate businessman in Hawaii until at least 2004. He was an active member of The Church of Jeusus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many different callings in his lifetime. He passed away on March 4, 2019 in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

Conference held at the Osaka Mainichi Hall, Japan. Contains addresses concerning "The Mormon Church in Japan," and "The Book of Mormon" and "The Conversion of Brother Aki." Speakers include Brother Tokiichih Yanagida, Katayama Okamachi, President Paul C. Andrus, and Sister & Brother Peterson. Also includes a postcard written in Japanese conji with a photograph of two women and LDS missionary.
