Biographical History

Ronald G. Hyde (born 1929) was an academic administrator in Utah.

Ronald Gregory Hyde was born in 1929 in Idaho to Milton Deronda Hyde and Mildred Yvonne Gregory. He attended Brigham Young University, and married Mary Helen Frampton in 1956.

In 1958, Hyde joined the administration of Brigham Young University as the alumni fund director. Over the course of his career at the university he advanced to serve as executive director of the alumni association, special assistant to the president for development and alumni relations, assistant executive vice president-university relations, and assistant to the president-university relations. He was also involved in professional organizations, and served as national board chair of the American Alumni Council between 1973 and 1974.

Hyde was also deeply involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various leadership positions. This included time as a bishop, mission president, and stake president.

He retired from the university in 1994.
