Biographical History

Robert G. Bee (1882-1967) was a naturalist from Provo, Utah, specializing in the study of bird eggs and nests.

Robert G. Bee was born on February 14, 1882 to Robert and Lavina Clive Bee in Provo, Utah. Early on in life he developed an interest in collecting bird eggs, nests, and mounted specimens, an interest that led to a lifelong passion. Though he spent most of his life working odd jobs, he spent his free time studying and collecting. In 1935 he took a job with the National Parks Service at Farmington Bay Refuge as a wildlife technician and spent five years doing field work and assisting in artificial refuge construction. Many of Bee's collections were placed in a number of institutions including Brigham Young University, the Peabody museum, and the Smithsonian. He died on September 9, 1967.
