Biography

Zhu De (1886-1976) was a Commander and Chief of the People's Liberation Army.

Zhu De was born on September 17, 2018 in Yilong, Sichun in China. He attended Yunan Military Academy and graduated in 1911. In 1922, Zhe De travelled to Berlin, Germany to attend the University of Gottingen. It was at this point in his life that he joined the Zhongguo gong chan dang. He returned to China and joined the Kuomintang Army to conceal his political affiliation. Zhu participated in an uprising in 1927 against the Nationalists. After this revolt, he relocated to Hunan, where he joined Mao Zedong. Zhu served as commander in chief of the Zhongguo gong nong hong jun during the Long March. He retained control of the military operations of the Communists during Japanese invasion, and continued through the civil war. Zhu served on the Committee of the National People’s Congress as chairman from 1959. Zhu died on July 6, 1973.
