Biography

Alondus LaFayette Buckland (1847-1933) was an early resident of Bounutiful, Utah.

Alondus LaFayette was born on September 17, 1847, in New Hope, California, to Nancy Laura Aldrich and Alondus De Lafayette Buckland. LaFayette moved with his family to Bountiful, Utah, at age one, where he remained a resident for 70 years. He married Hariett Pack on August 13, 1871, in Bountiful, Utah, and they had ten children. He worked in mining and farming industries. LaFayette died on June 11, 1933 in Parkdale, Oregon, and was buried in Idaho.

Handwritten and signed bishop's court record of the North Kanyon Ward in Bountiful, Utah, for charges brought against LaFayette Buckland and several others for riotous conduct and breaking the peace at the home of Joseph Argyle. Document signed by Bishop John Stoker and Clerk William Thurgood in 1867. Includes a fine of twenty-five dollars that Buckland was given, to be paid within twenty days.
