Harold J. Whiting (1908-1990) was a construction manager and state legislator in Utah.

Harold Johnson Whiting was born on February 25, 1908 in Springville, Utah to James William Whiting and Harriet Anna Johnson. Raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was baptized in 1917. Whiting studied finance and banking at Brigham Young University, graduating in 1930. The following year he married Marie Jensen Whiting in the Salt Lake Temple; they had four children.

Whiting began his career in New York, where he worked for five years at Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Co. During this time he also pursued post-graduate studies at New York University. He then returned to Springville, Utah to join his family's construction company. He served as president of Whiting and Haymond Construction Co. for thirty-five years. Whiting was also involved in local politics, serving for ten years on the Springville City Council and for two terms in the Utah House of Representatives. He remained active in the Church throughout his life, serving as a bishop and high councilor among other callings.

Whiting died in Provo, Utah on August 12, 1990.
