Correspondence, legal papers, mementos, certificates, and family papers. Correspondents include James E. Talmage, George H. Brimhall, and Karl G. Maeser. Also included is a certificate signed by President Ulysses S. Grant.
Includes a published pamphlet which appraises the work of Karl Maeser; a letter to Franklin Harris concerning the Maeser celebration in Provo in 1915; and his personal reminiscences of Provo and the Brigham Young Academy from 1879-1881.
Collection includes a report card of Harrington's class grades, signed by Karl Maeser and James Talmage.
Two typewritten and signed letters dated 16 Sept. 1936 and 28 Jan. 1937. The items were addressed to Judge Daniel Harrington and Francis W. Kirkham. McKay informs Harrington that he agrees with him on the matter of Herman W. Peery of, mayor of Odgen, Utah. McKay also believes that Peery should withdraw his candidacy for governor of Utah. McKay thanks Kirkham for sending him copies of some of his publications and looks forward to reading them.
Two handwritten and signed letters addressed to John Taylor's son-in-law, Daniel Harrington, dated 31 July and 8 Sept. 1886. Also included is a letter from Harrington dated 1 Nov. 1886 congratulating Taylor on his 78th birthday. The items deal largely with personal matters.
