Willard Washington Bean (1868-1949) was an author in Utah.

Willard Washington Bean was born on May 16, 1868 in Provo, Utah to George Washington Bean and Elizabeth Baum. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the southern states in 1893. On May 3, 1899 he married Gussie D. Felts and they had two children. After Gussie died in 1909 Willard married Rebecca Rosetta Peterson on September 17, 1914 in Manti, Utah and they had four children.

Softbound photocopy of a typewritten autobiography which includes a newsclipping from "The Church News." Willard W. Bean served the Mormon Church for 29 years and acquired many properties for the Mormon Church in New York State, including the Hill Cumorah.

Scope and Contents

Photocopies of a typewritten autobiography, a newspaper clipping, a Mormon Church blessing, and an essay. Also included are photocopies of handwritten letters received by Bean. These items include letters received from Mormon Church leaders Heber J. Grant and J. Golden Kimball. Bean was a missionary to the Southern States and lived in Palmyra, New York from 1915 to 1939.
