Young, Kristi A.
Biographical History
Kristi A. Young is a retired folklorist and archivist in Utah.
Bell attended the University of Northern Texas where she studied Library Science before continuing her education at Brigham Young University (BYU) where she received a Masters in English and Folklore. After graduation, she worked for BYU as the folklore archivist for the L. Tom Perry Special Collections until her retirement. Both during her time as a student and as a curator, Bell famously studied Mormon courtship--more specifically the phenomena of the creative dance "promposal".
Kristi Bell is married to Jim Bell and together they have six daughters--Laura (deceased), Shannon, Dianna, Lindsay, Stephanie, and Dana.
Since retirement, she has made several donations to the L. Tom Perry Special Collections.
