Photocopies of handwritten letters between Samuel H. B. Smith and William R. Hamilton. The items are concerned with the murders of Joseph and Hyrum Smith and the involvement of Samuel Harrison Smith in the removal of their bodies.
Samuel H. B. Smith diary
The collection consists of photocopies of Smith's mission diary, his autobiography, some correspondence, and records of ordinances performed in the Endowment House in the 1870s. Smith kept his diary while serving on a mission to Great Britain (1860-1863). He recorded the activities and experiences of missionary life and activities. The autobiography is brief and covers from Smith's birth to 1857.

Photocopy of a handwritten letter, addressed to George A. Smith, and dated 10 July 1860. Samuel Smith writes while he is on a mission for the Mormon Church. He tells about a visit with Joseph Smith (1832-1914), the first president of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and seeing Emma Hale Smith Bidamon and her husband.
