Biographical History

Albert Jones (1839-1925) was a pioneer of and missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Albert Jones was born August 28,1839 in England. He died in Provo, Utah on December 9, 1925. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in August 1855 in England, crossed the Plains with the Martin Handcart company, and eventually settled in Provo. In 1862, he was called to help drive Church wagons across the Plains; from 1872 to 1886 he was the tithing clerk for the Utah Stake; from 1884 to 1886 he served as a missionary in Britain; from 1888 to 1889 he served time in a federal prison, having been convicted of unlawful cohabitation.
