Biography
George Armstrong Custer; b. Dec. 5, 1839 in New Rumley, Ohio; d. June 25, 1876 at Little Bighorn River, Montana Territory; U.S. cavalry officer; graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., 1861; served in the Civil War, became brigadier general; killed at Battle of Little Bighorn.

The item is a biography of William Henry White (1851-1938) who was a Montana pioneer, Indian fighter, and one of the command which buried the dead on the Custer battlefield in June of 1876. The item was submitted to the Old Army Press by Mrs. Theodore Heil for publication.
