Biography

Jack Weyland (born 1940) is an author and physics professor in Idaho.

Jack Weyland was born in Butte, Montana in 1940. Attended and graduated from high school in Billings, Montana. Attended Montana State University and majored in Physics. Served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York and Pennsylvania. After his mission he attended Brigham Young University where he received a Ph.D in physics. His first novel Charly was completed in 1979, published in 1980. It was made into a feature film in 2002. He married Sherry and they have five children. He has taught Physics throughout his writing career. He taught at Ricks College now BYU-Idaho from 1993-2005. He has published 39 novels and more than 50 short stories.
