Mimeographed copy of a typewritten autobiography. Zane writes about his early life as a student and as a lawyer in Springfield, Illinois. He tells about his personal acquaintance with Abraham Lincoln and about hearing Lincoln give formal speeches on several occasions. Zane was appointed a federal judge in 1884 for the territory of Utah and writes about presiding over a number of important cases relating to polygamy in Utah. He later practiced law in Utah.

Contains one screenplay, written by Ruth Shinsel, called Sign of the Sword, which is about Abraham Lincoln. The interior cover says "to Bob and Ora" and has four signed names. Dated 1971.

Photocopy of a handwritten and printed land indenture. Smith, as trustee of the Mormon Church, agrees to pay for land in Macedonia, Hancock County, Illinois. The item was signed by an Abraham Lincoln as justice of the peace. The Lincoln signed his name "Abm Lincoln." The sixteenth president of the United States almost invariably signed his name as "A. Lincoln.
