Biographical History

Darrell Stuart Cramer (1922-2007) was a World War II veteran fighter pilot.

Darrell Stuart Cramer (1922-2007) was born on March 2, 1922 to Olvie and Emily Loretta (Stuart) Cramer in Ogden, Utah. He graduated Weber High School in 1922 and attended Weber College. In January 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and received his pilot wings at Luke Field, Arizona. Darrell was sent to the South Pacific theater of World War II in November 1942 where he was a P-38 pilot. He was married to Mildred McPhie on December 22, 1943. In June 1944, Darrell was assigned to the European Theater and flew P-51 aircraft with the 55th Fighter Group. He finished that tour as squadron commander. He was discharged in November 1945 and joined the Utah Air National Guard. Darrell served in multiple units around the world including Vietnam in 1969 to 1971. In 1970 he was promoted to the rank of brigadier. Darrell died on January 17, 2007 in Springville, Utah.
