Biography

Michael Hicks (1956- ) is a music professor at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Michael Hicks was born in 1956 in San Jose, California. He received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984 and has been teaching at BYU since 1985. He has written four books and many historical and analytical articles. He also writes poetry, which has been published in Dialogue. He and his wife Pamela have four children.
