Afton P. Margetts (1903-2004) was a painter in Washington, D.C.

Afton Papworth Margetts was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 13, 1903 to her parents Raymond and Bertha Papworth. After marrying her husband Raymond L Margetts in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1928, they eventually moved to Washington D.C. where she spent her spare time exercising her talents in art and music through her paintings (which became renowned both in Washington DC and Utah) and singing as a Soprano in various choirs in her local community. After her husband passed away, she returned to Utah participating in various organizations including the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. On October 22, 2004, she passed away at the age of 100.
