Biography

Isaac Sorensen (1840-1922) was a dairyman and farmer in Utah.

Frederik Isaach Nicolaisen was born on February 24, 1840 in Denmark to Nicolai Sorensen and Magdelena Olsen. He was a member of the Lutheran church until fifteen years old. On June 18, 1855 Isaac was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He immigrated to Utah with his family in 1857 and settled in Millcreek, Utah. In 1858 they moved south, and then settled in Mendon, Utah in 1859. Isaac married Mary Kristine Jacobsen on November 15, 1869 in Salt Lake, Utah and they had eleven children together. In the Church, he served as a superintendent of the Mendon Sunday School, a leader of the ward choir, and a member of the stake high council. On November 7, 1922 Isaac died in Mendon, Utah.
