Biographical History

H. Bartley Heiner (1907-2000) was an Institute director and teacher in Utah, Arizona, and Canada for many years of his life.

Henry Bartley Heiner was born on March 30, 1907, in Morgan, Utah to Henry and Margaret Melissa Robison Heiner. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bartley served in various callings throughout his life and served a mission for the Church in Australia from 1926 to 1928. He attended the University of Utah, the University of Wyoming, and Brigham Young University, from which he received a bachelor's and master's degree. He married LaVerne Farr in the Salt Lake City temple on June 2, 1930. After her death in 1979, he married Shirley Parker Marshall on April 1, 1980. Bartley worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for most of his career, teaching and directing seminaries and institutes. He also worked as a sheep and cattle rancher and construction and carpenter contractor at different points in his life. He died on September 2, 2000, in Ogden, Utah.
