Israel Thompson (approximately 1730-1795) was a wealthly Quaker land owner and businessman in Loudon County, Virginia in the 18th Century.

Israel Thompson was born in Fairfax, Loudon County, Virginia around 1730 to 1735. On April 2, 1754, he married Ann Richardson in West River, Maryland, and they had one child together. On 2 July 1778, Thompson married Sarah Hogue in Fairfax, Virginia, and they had seven children together. He was a wealthly Quaker land owner and businessman in Loudon County, Virginia.

Israel Thompson died in January 1795.

Letter from Israel Thompson to Isaac Hite in Kentucky. The letter is concerning the attacks by Native Americans in the area around Loudoun County, Virginia, where Thompson resided at the time. It also includes a discussion regarding the role of local government in protecting the citizens from the "angry natives." Dated August 19, 1783.
