Biographical History

C. Fred Berghout (1905-1992) was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Christian Fred Berghout was born on August 15, 1905 in Ogden, Utah to parents Leonard and Cornelia Margaretha Weening Berghout. He served his first mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands from 1926-1928. He then served in the Army during World War II.

He married Lucile Maria Neff on June 3, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they had three children. He and Lucile served three missions together in Florida, Washington D.C., and Switzerland.

Berghout passed away on March 8, 1992. He is buried in Salt Lake City, Utah.
