Biographical History

Julia N. Hibbert (1938- ) is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and an artist and family historian in Idaho.

Julia N. Hibbert was born as Julia Nadine Hegsted on March 29, 1938, near Heise Hot Springs, Idaho, to parents Victor Orville and Julia Genevieve Howe Hegsted. In 1956, she married National Park Ranger Roger Contor, and together they had three children. She traveled extensively with Contor as he worked for the Park Service. After Contor divorced her, she married retired Idaho Fish and Game Officer, Delvan Dee Hibbert in 1976, and together they had one child.

From an early age, Julia created art of all kinds and worked hard at improving her skill. A year at college, marriage, and moving often gave her opportunity to study art at different colleges and with other artists. After the divorce, she settled near Jackson, Wyoming, which allowed her to investigate original paintings by old masters and living artists. She is also a published writer in prose and poetry. Julia Hibbert is listed in Who's Who in the West, Who’s Who in the United States, and Who’s Who in American Women.

Hibbert lives in Idaho.
